If figuring out what to make for dinner every single night is one of the most annoying parts of your week, I have a solution!
As a dietitian and busy mom of 2, I am very passionate about eating meals at home to support long-term health but also understand how hard it can be to cook and plan dinner every single day!
Dinner Plan-ish is not a traditional meal plan with every dinner picked out for you. I wanted something with a little structure, but enough flexibility to actually work when schedules change, leftovers happen, you have zero motivation to cook, or you simply don’t feel like making what you originally planned.
The idea is simple: choose a few theme nights for the week, then pick a dinner that fits each theme. This significantly reduces mental load, makes eating home-cooked meals easier, narrows down the list of choices to choose from, and helps make meal planning more organized.
Instead of staring at hundreds of recipes and wondering what sounds good, you’ve already narrowed it down to something like Pasta Night, Taco-ish Night, Build-a-Bowl Night or I Don’t Feel Like Cooking Night.
You can choose 3 theme nights a week or all 7. Move them around. Repeat the same dinner every other week. Skip a night because you’re getting takeout. Use one of the recipes in the guide or plug in something your family already loves. There really aren’t rules.
What Is Included:
- 85-Page Downloadable E-Book
- 20 different theme night ideas to get you started, plus dozens of realistic recipes for themes like Mediterranean night, Meatless Night, Build-a-Bowl Night, Taco-Ish Night, One-Pan Night, Big Salad Night, Breakfast for Dinner, Pasta Night, Fiber Fridays and even a “I Just Don’t Feel Like Cooking” Night.
- Most of the meals have an emphasis on protein, fiber, produce, whole grains, beans and healthy fats, because that’s naturally how I like to build meals as a dietitian. But the point is not to make every dinner perfectly balanced. The point is to make dinner planning feel a little less overwhelming and help you create a system that works for your life.
- A customizable Google Sheets template you can use to plan your week, save recipe links, add your own recipes, customize your theme-night list, and slowly build a dinner library of meals you actually want to make again. Over time, the system should get easier because you’re not starting from scratch every week!
- Kid-friendly tips, meal-prep and shortcut ideas, printable prep checklists, clickable recipe links and plenty of reminders that frozen vegetables, rotisserie chicken, microwave grains, bagged salad and store-bought sauces absolutely count.
Think of it as a dinner plan… just not that much of a plan. 😆
How It Works
- Purchase Dinner Plan-ish and download the guide right away. You’ll also receive an email with your download link so you can come back to it anytime.
- Read through the “About the System” section to get familiar with how the theme-night approach works and how flexible it’s meant to be.
- Make your own copy of the Google Sheets template and start planning your first week. Choose a few theme nights, pick your dinners, and add in any of your own favorite recipes.
- Give the system a little time. Over the next few weeks, you’ll start figuring out which themes and meals work best for your schedule and your family. As you save the meals you actually want to make again, planning gets much faster because you’re no longer starting from scratch every week.
Eventually, you’ll have a go-to rotation of themes and dinners you can plug into your week with a lot less thought—which is really the whole point.
