This s’mores dip with cottage cheese is such a fun appetizer or dessert for the summer and holiday season! The salty cottage cheese brings out the sweet marshmallow and chocolate flavors and is the perfect sub for cream cheese. No one will ever know the difference.

This is a cold dip, almost like a tangy and sweet cheesecake s’mores dip. Substituting cream cheese or sour cream for cottage cheese is one of my favorite party tricks.
I sort of threw this recipe together for a “Dipsgiving” and it was a huge hit! I was most surprised at how much the kids all loved it.

Reasons to Try This S’mores Dip
- Sweet and salty deliciousness. This is a cold dip but with all the coziness of a campfire s’mores. For all the marshmallow and s’mores lovers out there. A super fun dip for summer, holiday and winter get togethers!
- Kid-friendly. This was a huge hit among the kids.
- Easy to make. Just 10 minutes of prep time.
- Prep ahead. The base of this dip can be made a couple days ahead of time. Then, you just need to add the toppings prior to serving.

Ingredients
This recipe makes quite a lot of servings. For a smaller party, I would recommend cutting the recipe in half. It does store in the fridge for up to 4 days if there are leftovers, though.
For a higher protein snack option, divide the recipe in half or in thirds. Add vanilla or unflavored protein powder to increase the protein content.

How to Make Cottage Cheese S’mores Dip
I would describe this dip as a combination of cheesecake and s’mores. Scroll for more ideas on how to serve this delicious concoction! You can always taste test by dipping a graham cracker into the dip and adjusting with more marshmallow, maple syrup or cool whip.
- Combine cottage cheese, cool whip, marshmallow fluff, maple syrup, vanilla extract and a pinch of salt (optional) to a large mixing bowl.
- Using a hand mixer or immersion blender, beat on low or medium until all the ingredients are well-combined with minimal or no lumps. Add mini chocolate chips (I used about 3/4 cup) and combine. Taste test and add maple syrup, if you prefer.
- Pour the mixture into a large bowl or 9.5 inch circular glass dish.
- Top the dip with more mini chocolate chips, crushed graham crackers and mini marshmallows when ready to serve (max 3 hours before serving to prevent sogginess). This dip is best serve really cold – so chill for 30-60 minutes for best taste and texture.
- Serve with sheets of graham crackers and strawberries. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days!
To prep ahead: Complete steps 1-4 and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Mix in the chocolate chips and add the toppings and it’s ready to serve!
