Healthy and nutritious peach cobbler overnight oats made with kefir! Kefir is a probiotic-rich, fermented food with live, active cultures to help increase the good bacteria in our gut. It’s a seriously underrated ingredient that pairs perfectly in overnight oats! {Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free Friendly}

This is a refreshingly delicious recipe for peach season but frozen peaches work great as well! I actually made this recipe during winter and there wasn’t a fresh peach in sight at the grocery store.
The maple, cinnamon, and tangy kefir pairs well with the sweet peaches. This recipe specifically uses Lifeway peach flavored kefir – which can be found at most major retailers. I have found it at Walmart, Kroger and Meijer. Lifeway is the leading brand of kefir with 12 different probiotic strains (as compared to the 6 that are in yogurt).
It’s tart and tangy so this recipe isn’t too sweet but can easily be adjusted by adding a little more maple syrup. Our gut is considered as a “second brain” as it plays a crucial role in overall health. A healthier gut influences not only digestive health but may improve metabolic issues and mental health.

Why I Love These Overnight Oats
- Tart, sweet and refreshing. Tart yet sweet peaches, cinnamon, maple syrup, and tangy kefir plus the pecans for crunch make the perfect bite! They’re bright and refreshing for summer but also cozy and comforting for the colder months.
- Easy meal prep. This recipe takes 5 minutes to prep and provides 2 servings for an easy, grab-and-go breakfast in the morning.
- They’re extremely good for you. These overnight oats actually feel like a filling, well-balanced meal unlike some other overnight oats recipes. They will keep you fuller for a longer period of time with 31g protein and 10g fiber! This recipe is high in calcium, iron, potassium, vitamin A, and magnesium as well.
- Made with one of the best gut healthy ingredients out there! Kefir helps to increase the amount of good bacteria in our gut to create more diversity and balance – leading to a healthier gut microbiome.

How to Make Overnight Oats with Peach Kefir

Peach cobbler inspired overnight oats but with the “superfood” kefir which perfectly complements the flavors while also increasing the amount of good bacteria in our gut. They’re high in protein AND fiber, too – my two favorite nutrients for a healthy breakfast.
This recipe makes two servings for easy, grab-and-go breakfasts! Easily double for meal prep. If peaches aren’t in season, just buy a bag of frozen peaches. I highly recommend topping with some vanilla Greek yogurt or whipped cream.
- Add rolled oats, milk, kefir, chia seeds, cinnamon, maple syrup, and protein powder to a bowl.
- Whisk ingredients together until well-combined.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Divide into two servings after refrigeration. Top with diced peaches, chopped pecans, vanilla Greek yogurt (or whipped cream), and a dash of cinnamon.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. The toppings will stay fresh this long as well! You can even layer the oats and peaches for better flavor distribution.

Variation Ideas & Tips
- Don’t have kefir? Substitute with 1 cup of peach or vanilla flavored Greek yogurt and increase the almond milk to about 1 1/2 cups. You may need to adjust the sweetness without the kefir.
- I use unflavored protein powder in this recipe. If using a vanilla flavored protein powder, the oats may taste sweeter and you may not need as much maple syrup.
- If omitting the protein powder, add in some vanilla Greek yogurt or top with hemp hearts for additional protein.
- I like to dice the peaches into small, bite-sized pieces.
