Tropical Tajín Yogurt Parfaits {with Pineapple & Mango}

This is a unique and refreshing tropical parfait with Tajín, pineapple and mango! A healthy snack or well-balanced breakfast if you love that combination of sweet and salty with a little bit of spice.

Two fully assembled tropical parfaits in glasses topped with diced pineapple, mango, and Tajin on a counter next to a bunch of mint and Tajin seasoning bottle.

These yogurt parfaits were inspired by my recent trip to Coldstone. They have this new concoction with mango ice cream, chunks of pineapple, and Tajín – which is a chile lime Mexican seasoning that can be found at most grocery stores. The combination was so fun and delicious – I had to recreate it!

These Tropical Tajín Yogurt Parfaits are a refreshing, crave-worthy way to upgrade your usual yogurt bowl. You’ve got the brightness and sweetness from the mango and juicy pineapple with the salty, spicy Tajin layered with the creamy Greek yogurt.

Why I Love This Recipe

  • Delicious and refreshing. These bright flavors complement each other well. Easily customize with your favorite add-ins or toppings.
  • Bright & tropical flavors: Mango + pineapple + lime = instant summer vibes. Or, a pick me up winter snack that will make you feel like you’re on vacation.
  • Sweet & spicy: Tajín adds just the right kick without overwhelming the fruit. It’s not too spicy, not too salty – just that perfect balance.
  • Nutritious & filling: a great option for a lighter breakfast for filling snack. If eating as a meal, each serving has 27 grams of protein.
  • Make-ahead friendly: assemble in jars and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.

Ingredients

This recipe makes 2-4 servings, depending on if you’re eating for breakfast (or lunch) or a snack!

Individually portioned ingredients for the Tajin yogurt parfaits.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla). I used plain Greek yogurt, however, you could use whatever you prefer – like coconut, vanilla, or pineapple! This will add more sugar, though – you can adjust with less honey if you prefer!
  • 1 medium or large ripe mango, diced into cubes.
  • 1 cup diced fresh pineapple. Sub with pineapple tidbits, strained without the juice, as a shortcut.
  • The juice of 1/2 of a lime.
  • 1 tsp Tajín seasoning (or more to taste).
  • Honey or agave syrup, to drizzle (optional). I used about 1 1/2 tablespoons to complement the salt/spice.
  • 1/2 cup granola (choose a crunchy one with coconut or honey for extra flair) or hemp hearts, optional. Chopped nuts would be another option as well.

How to Make Tropical Yogurt Parfaits

This isn’t your basic parfait – the sweetness of the fruit, the creaminess of the yogurt, the crunch from the granola, and that pop of Tajín spice? Irresistible.

If you’ve been looking for a healthy breakfast or snack that doesn’t feel boring, this is it. And honestly… don’t be surprised if you start putting Tajín on everything after this. I think my next recipe will be a Tajín smoothie.asdasd

This recipe makes two larger servings for a well-balanced meal or four smaller servings for a snack with about 1/2 cup of yogurt.

If you are preparing these parfaits as a snack, add 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt as the base. Then, top with fruit and drizzle with honey.

Variation Ideas & Tips for Success

  • Increase the protein: whisk 1-2 scoops of protein powder into the Greek yogurt before layering.
  • Swap the fruit with strawberries, kiwi or watermelon (yum!). Dragonfruit or papaya would be delicious as well!
  • Try grilled or caramelized pineapple.
  • Add a drizzle of hot honey if you prefer it even spicier!
  • For a dairy-free option, select a higher protein plant-based yogurt like Kite Hill.
  • Top with whipped cream or coconut cream for the ultimate sweet and tropical bite!
