If you’re a snacker like me, you might be looking for easy ways to snack a little smarter. Here are 6 high protein cottage cheese dips that come together in about 5 minutes. They give that satisfaction of a delicious, fun snack but with nutrition in mind so it’s more filling and satiating.

My biggest weakness is snacking. In fact, one of my favorite “hobbies” is watching TV in bed or on the couch with some snacks!

Admittedly, I am trying to make some better choices. I love that these dips satisfy my snack cravings but also help me reach a higher protein intake.

The cottage cheese is whipped so even if you don’t like cottage cheese you might really enjoy these dips. So, if you’re one of those people who loves a good snackfest, save this for numerous delicious snack ideas that serve more than one purpose!

Why I Love These Dips

  • Blend it once, split it into bowls, and now have snacks for days.
  • It takes five minutes, it’s high protein, and future me is always grateful. When that snack craving hits, I just grab one of my snack containers out of the fridge (already portioned out) and enjoy. One half cup serving has 14 grams of protein and just 85-100(ish) calories.
  • Prep multiple flavors at once so snack boredom doesn’t sabotage you. Really, you can customize each one however you want.
  • I love to add in things to to make it chunkier, like pickled veggies, green onions or chopped pickles. The chunkier, the better!

How to Make These Easy Dips

These specific recipes will give you some inspiration but literally the sky is the limit here, even if you don’t love cottage cheese! Adjust the add-ins per your preference – as I mentioned earlier, I prefer a chunky dip.

What you need

  • 1 large tub cottage cheese. I used a 24-ounce container, which makes 5-6 servings. A 16-ounce container would make about 4 (1/2 cup) servings.
  • A blender or food processor.
  • 5-6 small airtight storage containers. I used these Glass Storage Containers: this 10-pack came with 5 snack containers and 5 meal prep size containers!

Directions

👉 Blend the cottage cheese once until smooth, then divide it. That’s the secret. You could also divide in half and make just two larger dips. You get the picture – how you want to do it is up to you.

  1. Add an entire container of cottage cheese to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth or your preferred texture. If blade gets stuck, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk.
  2. Divide into 4-6 servings. I usually do 1/2-3/4 cup serving for each dip.
  3. Use the flavor inspirations below to change the flavor profile of each snack container! The ingredients are for one serving.
  4. Refrigerate immediately – tastes best when cold! Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Enjoy!

If you are short on time, I recommend picking just 2-3 different flavors so it’s easier to assemble.

1. Savory Ranch Dip

It really doesn’t get more simple than this one but it might be my favorite! The ranch seasong just adds so much flavor and the chili peppers add spice – it’s so delicious!

Mix in:

  • ½–1 tsp ranch seasoning.
  • Squeeze of lemon.
  • Chopped pickled chili peppers or marinated red bell peppers. Even chopped bell peppers would be good!

Snack with: carrots, cucumbers, pretzels, pita chips, julienned bell peppers or whole wheat crackers.

2. Taco or Buffalo Dip

Mix in:

  • 1–2 tbsp buffalo sauce OR 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning (shown above).
  • Garlic powder (optional).
  • 1–2 Tbsp. finely chopped pickled chili peppers, chopped bell peppers, and/or jalapenos.
  • Green onions, optional.

Snack with: celery, tortilla chips, or crackers. Add some leftover chicken, shredded cheese, and microwave for about one minute and you have a buffalo chicken-inspired quick and easy dip.

3. Cinnamon Cheesecake Dip

Tangy, sweet, and cinnamon-y! I love to dip apples into this one for a high protein and fiber snack.

Mix in:

  • ½-1 tsp cinnamon.
  • Splash of vanilla.
  • 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey (tastes best with two teaspoons, in my opinion).

Snack with: apple slices, graham crackers, and/or pretzels.

4. Berry cheesecake Dip

The lemon zest adds some freshness to this dessert-inspired dip. Note that it is not very sweet unless maple syrup or honey is added, adjust per your preference.

  • Vanilla, about 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Lemon zest, to taste.
  • Swirl in smashed berries – I love to add in thawed from frozen mixed berries.
  • Honey, to taste.
  • Instant pudding mix, optional. Add 1-2 teaspoons if you prefer a sweeter dip – vanilla or cheesecake flavor works best!

Perfect with strawberries, pretzels, or graham crackers!

5. Whipped Mediterranean Feta Inspired Dip

The creamy feta and the salty kalamata olives paired with a little bit of lemon zest gives off a tzatziki/Mediterranean dip like flavor. I found this one needed even more flavor so I added a drizzle of dressing (instead of olive oil) and it was so much more flavorful.

  • 1 tablespoon of Feta cheese.
  • Lemon zest.
  • Diced kalamata olives. Other ideas: diced red onion or cucumbers.
  • A sprinkle of Greek seasoning.
  • A drizzle of Italian or Greek dressing, optional, if you prefer more flavor.

It’s amazing with pita, naan, crackers, pretzels, celery, and cucumber.

6. Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil

A bowl of sun-dried tomato and basil cottage cheese dip next to crackers.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes, chopped.
  • Minced basil, 1-2 leaves.
  • Italian seasoning.
  • Other ideas to add in: feta cheese or goat cheese crumbles.

Delicious with pita crackers, cucumbers, bell pepper slices, or Wheat Thins.

Storage Tips

These dips stay fresh in the fridge for up to 5 days. Enjoy!

These dips work because they combine protein, flavor, and flexibility — so snacks feel fun and more satisfying.
