This creamy Greek yogurt key lime pie dip is part of my easy, functional Greek yogurt dip series – AKA, snacks that feel a little more fun than just eating yogurt from the container. It has that sweet-tart key lime pie flavor, but it’s made with Greek yogurt for extra protein with a lighter, fluffier texture. {Gluten-Free}

It comes together in about 5 minutes and works as a dip, spoonable snack, or easy addition to a dessert board. Serve it with graham crackers, raspberries, pretzels, vanilla wafers, or whatever crunchy/sweet dippers you have on hand.
It’s also gluten-free as written, as long as you choose gluten-free dippers.
This recipe curbs a sweet tooth, increases your protein intake, and replaces your bag of chips or cookies with a functional snack. I am drooling as I write this post and want to go grab the dip out of the fridge and eat some!

Most of my dips have instant pudding mix, however, this one does not need it because I bumped up the cream cheese. However, I did really enjoy adding just a tablespoon of Instant Cheesecake Pudding Mix, too.
Pair it with higher fiber dippers, like fresh fruit or Fiber Thins, to make it even more filling and nutritious.
What I Love About This Recipe
- It can be a healthy snack or appetizer. If you’re trying to increase your protein intake while also curbing a sweet tooth, this is a great option! Also, whether it is game day or a gathering with friends, this is a really delicious and enjoyable app – no one will realize it’s “healthy”.
- Easy snack prep – especially for summer. This fluff is so quick and easy to make. It can store in the fridge for up to 4 days. It gives summer vacation vibes, too.
- It’s refreshing, tangy and delicious! If you love the flavors of Key Lime Pie, this is going to be your favorite (like it is mine).
- It’s lower in calories and high in protein without any protein powder! 7 grams of protein in each serving. You can, of course, whisk in some protein powder – 1 scoop increases the protein to 11g per serving! Or, just eat more dip than the serving size.
- Functional treat to increase protein and probiotic consumption. Choose a Greek yogurt with probiotic strains listed on the package.

More Higher Protein Dips
I have been a bit obsessed with yogurt dips lately so I have created a few more. If you loved this recipe, add some variety by trying one of these!
How to Make It
Spoonable, dippable, creamy fluff that works with just about any dipper that makes sense with key lime pie. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the dip for that cheesecake moment. Or, dip raspberries into it for the most refreshing, high protein and fiber snack.
The entire recipe makes six servings. If you’re making this as a snack for yourself, you can easily cut the recipe in half and store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
It is really hard to mess this one up and it’s completely customizable.
Ingredients

- Plain or Vanilla Non-Fat Greek Yogurt (1 1/2 cups). Sub with a higher protein Greek-style plant-based yogurt for a dairy-free option.
- Cool Whip (3/4 cup). Dont have to measure precisely here, feel free to be generous. Opt for the lite version if watching your sugar intake.
- 1/4 cup softened or whipped cream cheese.
- 2-3 tablespoons Key Lime Juice.
- Lime zest, for garnish.
- Generous pinch of sea salt. Or more. It brings out the sweet and the tangy.
- 1 1/2 tablespoons powdered sugar.
optional Add-Ins
- Instant Cheesecake Pudding Mix (1-2 tablespoons). I will be honest: I added just one tablespoon and felt like it brought this whole dip together. So, so good! But it was delicious without it, too.
- Unflavored or vanilla protein powder (1 scoops or more). If you wanted to increase the protein content, you can stir in 1-2 scoops! Completely optional.

Toppings / Dippers
Dietitian tip: opt for strawberries or raspberries for a high fiber snack!
- Pretzels or pretzel crisps.
- Vanilla wafers.
- Graham crackers.
- Fresh strawberries/raspberries.
- White chocolate chips. I added them into the dip!
- Toasted coconut, for topping.
- Pineapple.
- Coconut thin cookies.
- Chopped nuts for some crunch and texture if you don’t add anything else.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Add the cream cheese, Greek yogurt, sea salt, lime juice, lime zest, and powdered sugar to a large bowl. If using instant pudding mix for a thicker dip, add it here as well.
- Whisk together until smooth and well-combined. You can also use an immersion blender for an extra smooth texture.
- Gently fold in the Cool Whip until the dip is light and fluffy.
- Fold in white chocolate chips, if using. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with additional lime zest and toasted coconut, if desired.
- Serve with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, fruit, or your favorite dippers.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Give the dip a quick stir before serving if it releases any moisture. If using toasted coconut, add it right before serving so it stays crisp.

Frequently Asked Questions
Isn’t pudding mix full of “toxic” chemicals?
Instant pudding mix is an easy and convenient way to add taste and texture! It’s mostly sugar, modified starches for thickening, flavorings, and some food colorings or stabilizers. These are all FDA-approved ingredients considered safe to eat in the amounts found in foods.
That said, it is a highly processed product – it’s not very nutrient-dense and it does contain artificial additives. So while it’s fine to enjoy occasionally, it’s not something to rely on for nutrition.
Food additives like the ones in Jell-O pudding mix have been evaluated repeatedly by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), and other global food safety agencies. For an additive to be approved, it must undergo toxicology studies to determine a “no observed adverse effect level” (NOAEL).
Now, remember: the “dose” makes the poison. Therefore, there might be one study out there that says one of these additives “may be a carcinogen” but 1) there is not enough research or even a specific dose in which this could be the case, and 2) the other studies in which this additive has been used have found no harm.
So while I wouldn’t recommend pudding mix as an everyday health food, there’s strong scientific consensus that the additives in small amounts are not dangerous. I would never recommend a food if I truly believed it would cause significant harm to other people.

Customize It
This recipe can be altered in a few different ways. The cream cheese, Cool Whip, and Greek yogurt all contribute to the consistency and texture. Add pudding mix into the equation and that increases the thickness as well.
The Greek yogurt and cream cheese have a tangy flavor with zero sweetness. If you swapped the plain Greek yogurt for vanilla Greek yogurt, it will obviously be sweeter – and you might not even need powdered sugar.
The amount of key lime juice can be adjusted based on your preference.
If I preferred a sweeter dip, I would just add more Cool Whip because it adds a lot of sweetness and fluff but without a lot of calories.
You can use CocoWhip and Greek-style plant-based yogurt as a dairy-free option, although I haven’t tested it.
Other sweeteners like Monk Fruit or honey would definitely work, too.
